WRECKING CREW DRUMMER HAL BLAINE HAS DIED

Hal Blaine is irreplaceable – I met him on a couple of occasions and interviewed his for an additional two hours by phone. He was funny as hell, finally got his dues after a dark period on the 80’s when he went through a nasty divorce and ended up working as a security guard in Scottsdale Arizona, before people re-discovered The Wrecking Crew in the 21st century…
I really liked him – a lot – gonna have to watch The wrecking Crew movie again tonight – this time with a sad heart, but a happy one that I got to spend a couple of days with him…
I’m lucky – and proud to have this framed drum head and sticks hanging in out music room…
What a life!!!

“Hal Blaine – loving father of Michelle Blaine; grandfather of Anthony, Josh, Aaron, Whitney, Tempest, Ever and Lyryk; and inspiration to countless friends, fans and musicians – has passed on today, March 11th, 2019 at the age of 90. May he rest forever on 2 and 4. The family appreciates your outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Hal from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time.”
