Paul Anka, one of the biggest teen idols of the late ’50s returns to Ovations Live Showroom with songs that shaped a generation such as Diana, Lonely Boy and Put Your Head on My Shoulder, moved into the adult sphere as a successful performer, songwriter and recording artist. He’s written well-known music including the theme for The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and one of Tom Jones’ biggest hits, She’s A Lady. Paul also wrote the lyrics for Frank Sinatra’s signature song My Way. He was nominated for an Academy Award for the theme of the 1962 film The Longest Day (which he also starred in), and if that wasn’t enough, it was revealed upon its release in 2009, that Anka co-wrote Michael Jackson’s posthumous #1 worldwide hit, This Is It, which has further cemented his place as one of the most prolific and versatile songwriters of any generation. Recently released in 2014 was Love Never Felt So Good, a song Anka wrote in the same session with Michael Jackson that he wrote This Is It. The song has gone on to hit #1 in more than 50 countries worldwide.

Don’t miss out on seeing the man who revolutionized popular Culture and changed the music business forever! The man that was described by Dick Clark as one of “the three most important things that ever happened in the music industry” is coming to Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino, February 3, 2017!

Chubby Checker is the son of a tobacco farmer from Spring Gulley, SC. His mother moved the family to Philadelphia when he was a young boy. It was here on South Street, in Tony Anastazi’s Produce Store, that he became a local celebrity by doing impressions of Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Elvis. His first manager, Henry Colt brought him to the attention of Kal Mann, who signed him to Cameo-Parkway Records. It was Dick Clark’s wife, Bobbie, who came up with the name Checker to go with his childhood nick name Chubby – a reference to the similarity between him and Fats Domino.

Chubby’s first single, “The Class” was a vehicle for his musical impressions and was included in Dick Clark’s ’58 Christmas card. That record was his first hit and reached #38 in Billboard.

Chubby Checker appeared on American Bandstand in 1960 and performed “The Twist,” starting a dawn of a new era in Rock and Roll! Chubby’s dance style has extended from Woodstock, through Disco to the present day. So get your tickets now and don’t miss the opportunity to see Chubby Live & in action, as he continues his “Never Ending Tour.”

MOTOWN MAGIC is a solid-gold production that guarantees to have everyone out of their seats and dancing in the aisles! It’s pretty universally known that Motown is an American record company founded by Berry Gordy in 1959 in Detroit – one that went on to achieve spectacular success for a small record company: 79 records in the Top Ten between 1960 and 1969. This show jives through the decades of Motown chart topping hit artists and groups like: The Temptations, The Four Tops, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, The Supremes, Martha Reeves & the Vandellas, Smokey Robinson, Tami Terrell, The Marvelettes, Gladys Knight and many, many more. There’s little doubt the memories will help re-create the “sunshine of your life” and “have a hold one you” before the night is out. Even if your “papa WAS a rolling stone,” there’s not a single reason to “shop around” – ’cause this show is one you DON’T want to miss!

In 1962, the group released their first album, featuring the single “Sherry,” which was not only their first charted hit but also their first number-one song. The Four Seasons followed up “Sherry” with several million selling hits, including “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” (their second #1 hit), “Walk Like A Man,” (their third #1), “Candy Girl” and several others. From 1962 to early 1964, only The Beach Boys matched the Four Seasons in record sales in the U.S.

The Four Seasons were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and joined the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999. They are one of the best-selling groups of all time having sold 175 million records worldwide.

For close to 50 years, Tower of Power has been creating their own kind of soul music. Since 1968, Tower of Power has delivered their unique brand of music to their fans, appearing before sold out crowds as they tour the world each year. Tower’s sound can be hard to categorize, but the band’s leader and founding member, Emilio Castillo, has labeled their sound as “Urban Soul Music.”

Tower’s rhythm section lays down a groove like no other band. The band’s horn driven sound is unique, and the way they approach everything, from writing and arranging to mixing and performing, is totally their own. Combine all of that with an outstanding lead vocalist and you have one of the most dynamic groups of musicians to ever hit the stage.

An evening to benefit  animals in need

Join us for a special dinner at the Arizona Biltmore Hotel while we celebrate the animals given a second chance at life through PACC911’s Lulu’s Angel Fund Program (LAF).

You’ll meet some of the Angels helped by our LAF program and see their amazing transformations. They have been neglected, abused and left for dead, yet with kindness and vital care these special souls have recovered. Their suffering has been replaced by love, health and happiness.

The capacity of these animals to love
and forgive will melt your heart.

But this couldn’t happen without much-needed veterinary care, which is where we come in with our special funding to aid our rescue partners in their quest to turn around the plight of these helpless victims.

When you purchase
a reservation or a sponsorship,
you help the cycle to continue and save a life.

We can’t do it without you. So please join us. Enjoy our program, dinner, music and a memorable auction along with other special surprises planned for you. Our special guest emcee is five-time Emmy Award Winner, KPHO CBS 5 evening meteorologist and reporter, Paul Horton.

Renaissance-Festival-2014_600x300
Head out to the 28th Annual Renaissance Festival  on President’s Day, Monday Feb. 15th from 10am – 6pm for an uplifting good time! Partake in the revelry at the wildly popular and entertaining annual faire every Saturday, Sunday, and on Presidents’ Day Monday, from February 6th thru March 27th, beginning at 10am.

Today’s audience want to be more then spectators. They want to interact and be surrounded by entertainment as they seek to escape the everyday world. This Festival transports visitors to an European style fair filled with an agreeable rabble of knights, rogues, royalty and craftsmen, all roaming throughout a 30-acre village filled with delectable sights and sounds tantalizing the senses. Explore 200 charming craft shops, 13 stages of non-stop entertainment, an arena for full-contact armored jousting, a living fountain, kitchens, pubs, and people powered games and rides.

All the Festival is a stage with a cast featuring more than 2,000 brightly costumed actors, dancers, mermaids, acrobats and musicians. These are the amazing people who populate this bustling event to ensure a good time for the 265,000 visitors who mingle into the endlessly wacky and unpredictable merriment and mayhem. At the Renaissance Festival, the audience is a special guest in another place and time. The Renaissance Festival experience is meeting and interacting with a variety of colorful characters, shopping for unique arts and crafts, and taking in a selection of over 150 shows every event day. There is a great variety of food for feasting, and a bevy of beverages including Medieval Margaritas, Da Vinci Coladas, Dukes of Daiquiri, wine, honey mead, beers and ales, along with soft drinks and lemonade.

A popular attraction at the Festival are the live jousting tournaments held three times daily in the 5,000 seat arena, complete with knights on charging horses, clanging weapons and a great deal of braggadocio. The 16th century Festival is home to many popular traditions including chomping down on a giant roasted turkey leg, adding to your collection of drinking vessels or hair adornments as well as battling wits with the village idiot. Create YOUR own tradition at this annual event.

The Faire features demonstrations of time honored crafts such as weaving, jewelry making, glass blowing, blacksmithing and pottery throwing. Shopping is fun and if you are looking for a unique gift; you shall surely find it at this bustling marketplace. A most special event within this giant event is The Pleasure Feast. This is a one and a half hour, five course medieval feast with live music and comedy entertainment, all you can eat and drink, plus festival souvenir. With limited seating twice daily, advance feast reservations are recommended. Don’t miss this time travel experience—see thee at the Faire. Huzzah
