50th ANNIVERSARY EDITION OF THE BEATLES “WHITE ALBUM” CONFIRMED

MY ALBUM I BOUGHT IN 1968

On November 25, 1968, The Beatles “White Album” was released in the US – last week, Paul McCartney confirmed a 50th anniversary issue is imminent. According to Sir Paul:
“Something sparks another memory, but it’s really nice because we were a great little band, I think we can agree on that. The album itself is very cool and it sounds like you’re in the room; that’s the great thing about doing remasters. But we’ve also got some demos of the songs, so you get things stripped right back to just John’s voice and a guitar.
You just think, how ****ing good was John?! Amazing. We were just doing it; it was amazing. We were having a good time”.
This years “Black Friday” is the most likely release date since it lines up almost perfectly with the 50th anniversary date.
Extra demos, alternate versions of songs, and a 5.1 surround sound mix are all likely to be included in the new set.
George Martin once said it would have made a great single disc album. But then which songs do you discard?
