GOOD GRIEF – ANOTHER ELVIS DOCUMENTARY

His story has been told over and over and over in some very good (and some not so good) specials and films. What else could there possible be to add?
Well, in a nutshell, nothing…except for a different perspective on how Elvis’ life ties in with the changing life of America.
According to the publicity for the film the movie is “a musical road trip across America in his 1963 Rolls Royce explores how a country boy lost his authenticity and became a king while his country lost her democracy and became an empire.”
Ok, fresh perspective. I’ll bite.
Two time Sundance winner Eugene Jarecki directed the film, so I know it has potential. Haven’t seen the movie, and I’ve reached out to Harkins Theatres to see if and when it will be playing here – nor response yet…..
I’m guessing 10 minutes into the film I’ll know whether it holds my interest, or is just more of the same with a new coat of paint.
More info as I get it…in the meantime, take a look at the trailer… – Steve Goddard
